Concrete, inspired by Comme des Garçons Concrete (2017)

Comme des Garçons treated sandalwood as a material to take apart, and Concrete shows it. The wood is creamy, but cumin, cardamom and clove give it a dry, skin-like spice. Rose oxide, a molecule with a metallic, geranium-like rose smell, adds a cool edge, and jasmine sambac a little floral body. Cedar and musk finish it with a chalky, plaster-like texture that settles and then barely moves.

About the original

Concrete launched in summer 2017 as an 80 ml eau de parfum, composed by Nicolas Beaulieu and sold in a bottle coated in concrete. At launch the brand named only sandalwood, rose oxide and its spice signature. The house now sells both an eau de toilette and the eau de parfum in its core range. Our version takes that original eau de parfum as its model.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Comme des Garçons stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

It is for people curious about sandalwood presented in an unusual, mineral way. The effect is smooth yet slightly austere. Cumin gives the spice a skin-like warmth that not everyone enjoys.

Not literally. It is a sandalwood scent with a chalky, plaster-like texture, sold in a bottle coated in concrete.

Is this the eau de parfum or the eau de toilette?

It is inspired by the 2017 eau de parfum. Comme des Garçons also sells an eau de toilette version of Concrete.

Is Concrete spicy?

Cumin, cardamom and clove are present but sit close to the sandalwood, giving it a dry, skin-like spice rather than a hot one.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
