Epic 56 Woman, inspired by Amouage Epic 56 Woman (2021)

Cumin is the first thing most noses register, a dry, skin-like spice, with pink peppercorn and cinnamon adding heat. Centifolia rose and geranium form the floral centre, and a jasmine tea note gives them a fragrant, leafy quality. The base carries most of the weight, with frankincense and oud set in amber and woods, and vanilla smoothing the edges. It reads deep and resinous rather than sweet.

About the original

Amouage launched Epic 56 Woman in 2021 within its Exceptional Extraits collection. It extends the 2009 Epic Woman Eau de Parfum: the original runs at 23% oil, while Epic 56 is a 56% oil extrait given ten weeks of maceration plus eight of maturation, which the brand says deepens the rose, spices, frankincense and woods. Cécile Zarokian, one of the perfumers behind the original Epic Woman, composed it. The note lists are closely matched, with centifolia rose here in place of the Damascene rose of the EDP.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Amouage stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Women who already like the Epic Woman EDP and want a denser, more amber-led version are the natural audience. Prominent cumin and oud are the likely sticking points, since cumin can read as sweaty on some skins.
