Eyes Closed, inspired by Byredo Eyes Closed (2022)

Spice comes first, cardamom's green, camphor-tinged freshness against the heat of cinnamon. Then the temperature drops: ginger and carrot give the heart a crisp, rooty quality, and orris butter, the concentrated extract of iris root, lays a buttery powder over it. Papyrus and patchouli lead it to a papery, earthy finish. That shift from spice to coolness is the scent's defining move.

About the original

Released in November 2022, Eyes Closed takes distance and separation from loved ones as its theme, according to Ben Gorham. Byredo files it under amber and highlights its natural ingredients, and launch coverage called it rich. No perfumer is credited.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Byredo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

It sits between a spice scent and an iris scent, and appeals most to people who enjoy both. Carrot is an unusual note in perfume, and its earthy, slightly vegetal tone will not please everyone.
