Infusion D'Iris

Infusion D'Iris, inspired by Prada Infusion d'Iris Eau de Parfum (2007)

Infusion d'Iris starts with mandarin and neroli, the bitter-fresh oil of the orange tree's blossom, which make the opening airy and almost soapy. Iris then moves to the centre, smelling of cool root and fine powder, more like clean skin than make-up. Benzoin, a vanilla-like resin, and cedar give it a pale, woody floor. Transparent throughout and never sweet, it stays close.

About the original

Daniela Andrier composed Infusion d'Iris for Prada in 2007, and it won a FiFi Award in 2008 in the Women's Nouveau Niche category. In 2015 Prada made its Infusions a permanent collection and relaunched this scent with a simplified formula built around iris, mandarin, neroli, cedar and benzoin. That revised version is what Prada sells today in Les Infusions de Prada, presented as part of a unisex collection; the 2007 formula, which also had galbanum, incense and vetiver, is no longer made.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Prada stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Office days and minimal wardrobes suit it well, and it wears just as easily on men. Its restraint is the point, so anyone wanting presence or sweetness will probably find it too discreet.

The page refers to Infusion d'Iris as first released in 2007. Prada's current bottle is the 2015 reformulation, which is fresher and simpler than the original.

Prada now presents Les Infusions as a unisex collection, and this iris suits anyone. It was originally marketed to women.

Is it powdery?

Lightly. The iris has a fine, dry powderiness, but citrus and cedar keep it clean rather than cosmetic.
