Jubilation 40, inspired by Amouage Jubilation 40 Man (2023)

Dark fruit opens it, blackberry and tart blackcurrant laced with rosemary and davana, a herb with a boozy, dried-fruit tone. The heart is where it gets complicated: Scotch broom and frankincense combine into something like honeyed tobacco, threaded with cinnamon, clove, bay and rose. Below sits a deep bed of patchouli, cistus, opoponax and myrrh with guaiac wood, moss and oud, plus some slightly animalic touches. It shifts a great deal on skin, so the drydown smells quite different from the first spray.

About the original

Amouage released Jubilation 40 in late 2023 to mark the house's 40th anniversary. Bertrand Duchaufour, who created Jubilation XXV Man in 2008, reworked his own composition for it, keeping the blackberry opening and adding blackcurrant. Amouage calls it an Exceptional Extrait, and it is still in the brand's range. It is a separate product from both Jubilation XXV Man and the women's Jubilation 25.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Amouage stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Collectors of incense and resin scents are the obvious audience, especially owners of the 2008 original. With oud, myrrh and animalic hints in the base, it can feel weighty to someone used to citrus or aquatic fragrances.

How is Jubilation 40 different from Jubilation XXV Man?

It is a 2023 reworking of the 2008 scent by the same perfumer. It keeps the blackberry opening, and adds blackcurrant. We make both.

The men's. Jubilation 25 Woman is a different fragrance.
