Les Sables Roses, inspired by Louis Vuitton Les Sables Roses (2019)

Les Sables Roses plays the coolness of fresh rose against the dense, woody depth of oud, and each makes the other stand out. The rose is a Centifolia from Grasse, dewy and full. Oud, the dark resinous wood of the agar tree, gives it a dry, shadowy floor. Ambergris, which smells salty and musky-sweet, ties the two together.

About the original

Released in mid-2019, this was Louis Vuitton's second tribute to Middle Eastern perfume culture after Ombre Nomade (2018), and Jacques Cavallier Belletrud composed it. Desert dunes at daybreak inspired the scent; the name means 'the pink sands'. LVMH described it as lively and sensual and suggested layering it with Ombre Nomade. It remains on sale in LV's oud line.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Louis Vuitton stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Rose-oud pairings are a familiar Middle Eastern style, and this one suits someone who likes rose but finds it too delicate on its own. Its leanings are towards evenings and cooler months. The oud adds a dark, woody edge that a buyer after a fresh garden rose may find too much.
