Moscow Mule, inspired by Juliette Has a Gun Moscow Mule (c. 2018)

Ginger and lime hit first, peppery and zesty, much like the cocktail the scent is named after. Bergamot rounds the citrus, and a little apple and jasmine add a fruity, floral note in the middle. The base is clean and musky, built on ambroxan and ambretolide, a musk molecule with a faintly fruity, powdery feel. Some wearers find the musk more prominent than the ginger once it settles.

About the original

Juliette Has a Gun based Moscow Mule on the vodka, ginger and lime cocktail, and gave the bottle a copper-coloured cap in a nod to the copper mugs it is served in. Dates vary: one fragrance reference gives 2017, while Now Smell This covered it as new in April 2018 and the UK launch was reported that July. Only one version exists. The brand sums it up as fresh, citrus and clean.

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Juliette Has a Gun stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its mood is playful rather than classic, fresh and slightly spicy without any heavy sweetness. Ginger lovers should know that some wearers find it more musky than gingery.
