Sindbad, inspired by Amouage Sindbad (2025)

The first spray is full and honeyed, with tangerine, grapefruit, mango, pomegranate and apricot over ginger, cardamom and pink pepper. It soon turns creamier as black tea and a frothy cappuccino accord come in, while davana adds a dried-fruit, almost boozy shading. The drydown is sweet but smoky, with tonka and vanilla laid over cedarwood, labdanum, cypriol, vetiver and patchouli.

About the original

Amouage created Sindbad in 2025 in connection with the Royal Opera House Muscat's Arabic-language opera Sindbad: The Omani Sailor, which premiered in October 2025. In 2026 the house released it internationally as Elsewhere, in its Essences collection, because the Sindbad name could not be used outside Oman. Amouage has said the two are the same perfume, so a buyer searching for Elsewhere is looking for this scent.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Amouage stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Honey, coffee and resin are the main attractions. The opening is distinctly sweet and fruity, which may be too much for someone who wants a dry woody fragrance.

Are Amouage Sindbad and Elsewhere the same perfume?

Yes. Amouage has said they are the same perfume. It was renamed Elsewhere for sale outside Oman because the Sindbad name could not be used there.

Is Sindbad sweet?

The opening is sweet and fruity with honey and mango. It becomes creamier and then woodier, with tonka and vanilla keeping some sweetness to the end.

What concentration is the original?

Amouage sells Elsewhere as an Essence de Parfum at 30% concentration. Ours is made as an eau de parfum.
