Open Sky, inspired by Byredo Open Sky (2021)

Open Sky starts on tangy citrus, pomelo in most launch coverage (one report names yuzu), set against the bite of black pepper. Hemp leaf adds a green, herbal note with a resinous side that keeps the opening outdoorsy rather than polished. As it settles, palo santo gives a sweet, resinous wood, and vetiver grounds it with an earthy, rooty dryness. Sugar plays no part; it stays airy and woody throughout.

About the original

Byredo issued Open Sky in May 2021 as a limited-edition eau de parfum in a 100 ml bottle, presenting it as an ode to travel and the in-between moments of being on the move. It followed Mixed Emotions, released earlier the same year. No official note pyramid has been found, so the notes here come from launch press. Open Sky no longer appears on Byredo's sites in the EU, the UK or the US.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Byredo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Peppery and green, it suits people who prefer woods and spice to florals or gourmand notes. Hemp leaf is unusual in perfume, and its herbal, slightly cannabis-like tone may surprise anyone expecting a plain citrus-wood scent.

Is Byredo Open Sky discontinued?

It was a limited edition released in May 2021 and is no longer produced. It does not appear on Byredo's EU, UK or US sites.

Is the citrus in Open Sky pomelo or yuzu?

Most launch coverage lists pomelo, while the Taiwan and Hong Kong launch report names yuzu. Byredo's own note pyramid has not been found.

How does Open Sky differ from De Los Santos?

Both use palo santo. Open Sky is peppery and green with citrus, whereas De Los Santos is herbal and powdery, built on clary sage and orris.

Is Byredo Open Sky coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Byredo about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days. It arrives in 3 to 7 days across the EU and in 7 to 14 days outside the EU. You have 14 days to return an unopened bottle.
