Sublime Vanille, inspired by Creed Sublime Vanille (2009)

A citrus start of lemon and bergamot keeps the vanilla from arriving too heavily. As the citrus fades, vanilla moves to the centre, threaded with jasmine so it smells floral and slightly luminous rather than baked. Tonka bean, with its almond and hay facets, deepens the base, and musk keeps the finish smooth. Creed calls it a soft oriental, and the composition stays simple throughout.

About the original

Sublime Vanille belongs to Les Royales Exclusives, Creed's premium collection, sold in gilded Pochet du Courval bottles in 75 ml and 250 ml. Its launch year is usually given as 2009 or 2010, around the time the collection began, but no official date has been confirmed. Creed presents it as a fragrance for both men and women. It is still sold as an eau de parfum.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Creed stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Vanilla lovers who find gourmands too sugary are the natural audience, since the jasmine and citrus keep it composed. It is a sweet scent at heart, though, so a dry or smoky vanilla is not on offer here.
