Vanilla Cake, inspired by Montale Vanilla Cake (2018)

Ground almond and buttercream set the tone straight away, so the start smells more like a patisserie than a flower shop. A milky mousse accord and caramel follow, making the middle dense and rounded. Montale's own description also mentions roasted almonds and a meringue-like trail. Vanilla carries it to the finish with nothing woody or spicy to dry it out.

Vanilla Cake belongs to Montale's gourmand range and is still part of the brand's official catalogue in 2026. fragrance references date it to 2018; Montale itself gives no year. The brand describes it with Madagascar vanilla, and it is a separate scent from the house's other vanillas, including Vanilla Extasy, Sweet Vanilla, Vanille Absolu and Dark Vanilla.
