Beach Walk, inspired by Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk (2012)

Citrus does the opening work, bergamot and lemon lifted by pink pepper, before the heart takes over: a coconut-milk accord with ylang-ylang, which together give the sweet, slightly oily floral smell of sunscreen. Heliotrope adds an almond-powder tone, and Transluzone, a modern aroma molecule, sits alongside it. Cedar, benzoin and white musks dry it down to something powdery and skin-like.

About the original

Beach Walk was one of the early Replica fragrances, launched in 2012, and the brand page credits it to Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and Marie Salamagne. As the name suggests, it is built around a day at the seaside, with the coconut and ylang-ylang heart recalling sun lotion on skin. Maison Margiela also sells a Beach Vibes candle, which is a separate product; our version follows the Beach Walk eau de toilette.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Maison Margiela stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Holidays and summer days are where it belongs, and the feel is casual rather than polished. Light and easy, it suits people who like smelling of sun cream on purpose. Coconut and sunscreen notes are central, so it will not please anyone who dislikes either.
