Madawi Gold, inspired by Arabian Oud Madawi Gold Edition (2022)

Cardamom opens it with a slightly sweet, aromatic spice, joined by a fruity accord. In the heart, pineapple blossom brings a tropical brightness that jasmine and tonka soon make creamy. The drydown is vanilla with patchouli, sweet and smooth, with a little earthiness keeping it grounded.

About the original

Arabian Oud released Madawi Gold Edition in 2022 to mark the brand's 40th anniversary, presenting it as a tribute to the original Madawi. It is a modified version of that scent rather than a reissue, and is also sold as Madawi 40 Years Gold Edition. Arabian Oud's UK store lists it in 100 ml alongside the standard Madawi. Retailers disagree on gender, with some calling it unisex and others filing it as women's.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Arabian Oud stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who likes vanilla-led orientals with a fruity lift will find it easy company. It stays sweet throughout, and the tonka and vanilla base will not satisfy a person looking for a dry or fresh scent.

It is a 2022 anniversary version that Arabian Oud built on the original, with cardamom, pineapple blossom, jasmine, tonka and vanilla. We also make the original Madawi.

Is Madawi Gold for women or unisex?

Retailers differ: some list it as unisex, others as women's. Its fruity vanilla profile does not lean strongly either way.
