Musk 12, inspired by Kayali Musk | 12 (2018)

Musk sits at the centre, clean and slightly powdery, like freshly washed skin. Lotus and freesia keep the top airy, and jasmine adds a faint floral sweetness. Vanilla and sandalwood round off the base without making it gourmand. Kayali designed it as a gentle, second-skin scent and as a base for layering with other fragrances.

About the original

Musk | 12 was one of the four scents Kayali launched with on 16 November 2018, alongside Elixir 11, Citrus 08 and Vanilla 28. It was created with Firmenich, and Kayali names Harry Fremont as the nose. It is separate from the later Freedom Musk line. Kayali began under Huda Beauty and, since separating from it in 2025, has been owned by Mona Kattan and General Atlantic.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kayali stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Minimalists and keen layerers are the natural fit. It is meant to sit beneath other scents as much as to be worn alone, so a buyer wanting a bold, distinctive fragrance may want something with more character.

No. Freedom Musk is a later, separate line. Musk | 12 is one of Kayali's original 2018 scents.

Can Musk 12 be layered?

Yes. Kayali designed it as a base for layering, and its clean musk sits easily under other scents.

Is it sweet?

Only slightly. Vanilla smooths the base, but musk and pale florals keep it clean.
