Velvet Rose & Oud, inspired by Jo Malone London Velvet Rose & Oud Cologne Intense (2012)

Clove opens it with a pungent spice before the damask rose comes through, deep and velvety as the name promises. Praline adds a toasted, nutty sweetness that sits unusually well with the rose. The oud underneath is smoky and resinous, giving the finish a shadowy, wood-smoke character.

About the original

Velvet Rose & Oud joined the Cologne Intense series in 2012 as a limited edition, sold in 100 ml. It later became part of the permanent range and is now sold in 50 ml and 100 ml. Jo Malone London describes it as magnetic and decadent. It is a separate scent from Oud & Bergamot and from Gardenia & Oud Absolu.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Rose-and-oud fans who like sweetness alongside the smoke are the natural audience. Its richness and sweet-smoky character may deter buyers who prefer light, airy scents.

No. Oud & Bergamot is a different Jo Malone London fragrance, and we make a version of that too.
