Beautiful Belle, inspired by Estée Lauder Beautiful Belle (2018)

Lychee gives the start a glossy, rosy fruitiness that pairs naturally with the rose petals and powdery yellow mimosa. Within minutes the white flowers take over, and the gardenia and tuberose make the middle full and heady. Orris root, the dried iris root prized for its powdery, lipstick-like tone, steadies the base. A suede accord and a marzipan-tinged musk give the finish a plush, almond-sweet texture, with ambrox adding a clean ambery-woody lift.

About the original

Estée Lauder introduced Beautiful Belle in July 2018 as a flanker of Beautiful (1985); a few databases date it to 2017. The brand themed it around three stages of love, called The Thrill, The Romance and The Promise. Compared with the 1985 original it is fruitier and sweeter, and the brand classes it as a floral amber. It is still part of the Estée Lauder range, and the later Beautiful Belle Love is a separate flanker.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Estée Lauder stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its romance-themed story and full white-floral heart point it towards someone who likes a lavish floral. The marzipan note and white flowers make it fairly sweet and full, so anyone who prefers crisp, airy florals may find it too lavish.

How is Beautiful Belle different from the original Beautiful?

Belle is fruitier and sweeter than the 1985 Beautiful: it adds lychee at the top and a sweeter marzipan and suede base, so it reads more modern and fruity.

Does it smell of almond?

Gently. The marzipan musk gives the drydown a sweet almond note rather than a sugary one.
