Cashmere Mist, inspired by Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Eau de Toilette (1994)

Cashmere Mist is less about individual notes than about texture. A touch of bergamot and a cool lily of the valley open it, and Moroccan jasmine gives a gentle floral centre. Sandalwood, amber and musk then take over, producing the creamy, faintly powdery effect its name suggests. Some wearers compare it to clean laundry.

About the original

Donna Karan introduced Cashmere Mist in 1994, and it remains in the range today as both Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum. The curved bottle, modelled on the line of a woman's back, was designed by Donna Karan's late husband, Stephan Weiss. It belongs to the main Donna Karan label rather than the younger DKNY line, although the two names are often mixed up. Since 2022 it has been made under licence by Inter Parfums.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Donna Karan stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A discreet scent for close company and everyday comfort, it rarely announces itself. The musky, slightly powdery drydown is its main character, so it may feel too muted for those who like sparkle or sharper florals.
