La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal, inspired by Lancôme La Vie est Belle Soleil Cristal (2021)

Soleil Cristal belongs to the 'solar' style, the term for white flowers and coconut arranged to suggest sun on skin. Ylang-ylang, with its banana-like, slightly oily sweetness, meets the coconut in the base. Orange blossom and jasmine fill out the heart around it. Iris and patchouli under the vanilla tie it back to the La Vie est Belle family, so it stays sweet rather than fresh.

About the original

Lancôme introduced Soleil Cristal in April 2021 as an Eau de Parfum flanker of La Vie est Belle (2012). Launch press credits Nicolas Beaulieu and Dominique Ropion. It is a different scent from L'Éclat or En Rose, two other flankers of the line. Soleil Cristal no longer appears among the La Vie est Belle products on Lancôme's French and UK sites, although some retailers still carry stock.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Lancôme stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Spring and summer suit it best, in line with its sunny positioning. The coconut is noticeable and the whole composition is sweet, so it is a poor match for a crisp, green or citrus-led summer scent.

Heart notes: Ylang-ylang, Orange Blossom, Jasmine

Is La Vie est Belle Soleil Cristal discontinued?

It no longer appears in the La Vie est Belle range on Lancôme's French and UK sites, and we found no brand statement about it. Some retailers still have stock.

Does Soleil Cristal smell of coconut?

Yes. A coconut accord sits in the base with vanilla, and together with ylang-ylang it gives the scent its sun-cream, holiday feel.

Is Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Lancôme that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
