La Vie Est Belle L'Eclat, inspired by Lancôme La Vie Est Belle L'Éclat (2017)

Orange blossom is the core of L'Éclat, and Lancôme built the whole composition around it. Bergamot and mandarin brighten the start, then a white floral accord fills in around the orange blossom. Vanilla and sandalwood keep the gourmand link with La Vie Est Belle in a much lighter form. It feels airy and luminous rather than syrupy.

About the original

Launched in August 2017, L'Éclat was presented as a fresher, more delicate La Vie Est Belle for summer days. Launch copy called orange blossom the 'flower of light', and the scent is built to match. Lancôme later added an Eau de Toilette version (2018) with its own formula; this page refers to the 2017 Eau de Parfum. Neither appears in Lancôme's current La Vie Est Belle range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Lancôme stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lighter and cleaner than the original, it works for daytime and warm weather, in line with how it was presented at launch. The vanilla base still gives it sweetness, so it is a gourmand floral, not a citrus scent.

The first minutes are citrus, bergamot and mandarin, clean and zesty.

Orange blossom then takes the lead, surrounded by a white floral accord that makes it fuller.

Vanilla and sandalwood finish it, smooth and lightly sweet, without the heavy patchouli of La Vie Est Belle.

Is this the Eau de Parfum or the Eau de Toilette L'Éclat?

The Eau de Parfum from 2017. The 2018 L'Éclat Eau de Toilette is a different formula.

Has La Vie Est Belle L'Éclat been withdrawn?

It no longer appears in Lancôme's ranges in France, Germany, Italy, the UK or the US; the old French product page now redirects to the main La Vie Est Belle range.

How does it compare with the original La Vie Est Belle?

It is fresher and more floral, built around orange blossom, with less patchouli and a lighter vanilla base.

Is Lancôme La Vie Est Belle L'Eclat coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Lancôme that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
