Iris & Lady Moore, inspired by Jo Malone London Iris & Lady Moore Cologne (2012)

Despite the name, this reads as foliage before it reads as flower. Geranium leads with its peppery, rose-like leaf, and ivy adds a cool, slightly bitter greenness that keeps the floral side in check. Vetiver gives a dry, earthy finish. The overall effect is fresh and spicy, closer to a cut-stem bouquet than to the buttery iris many people expect.

About the original

Iris & Lady Moore came out in March 2012 as part of London Blooms, announced as a trio of limited edition colognes alongside Peony & Moss and White Lilac & Rhubarb. It was sold as a 100 ml Cologne. Launch coverage called it a fresh, spicy floral. It has since left the brand's range, and it is a different scent from Iris & White Musk.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Green-floral fans who find powdery iris too heavy may get on well with it. The original was a spring release and the texture is light and leafy. The spice of geranium is noticeable at first, which some may find brisk.

Notes: Geranium, Ivy, Vetiver

Geranium opens it, spicy and leafy, with ivy giving a damp, shaded green tone that sits right beside it.

As it settles, vetiver takes over the lower register: dry, rooty and slightly smoky. A fragrance database also lists iris, though launch descriptions centre on geranium, ivy and vetiver.

Is Iris & Lady Moore discontinued?

Yes. It was a limited edition in Jo Malone London's 2012 London Blooms collection and is no longer produced.

Does it smell powdery like iris?

Not really. The documented notes are geranium, ivy and vetiver, so it comes across green and leafy rather than powdery.

Is it the same as Iris & White Musk?

No. Iris & White Musk is a separate Jo Malone fragrance; this page is the 2012 London Blooms Iris & Lady Moore.

Is Jo Malone London Iris & Lady Moore coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Jo Malone London about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
