L'Eau Par Electric Wave, inspired by Kenzo L'Eau par Kenzo Electric Wave pour Homme (2016)

Yuzu, a Japanese citrus that smells somewhere between grapefruit and mandarin, opens alongside pink grapefruit for a tart, sparkling start. Green apple quickly becomes the most noticeable note, crisp and a touch sour, with mint cooling it down. Tonka bean adds a little sweetness at the end, and rosewood keeps that finish light and woody. The drydown is unusual for a citrus scent and does not suit everyone.

About the original

Kenzo released Electric Wave in February 2016 as a pair of limited editions of L'Eau par Kenzo, one pour Homme and one pour Femme. Olivier Cresp and Dora Baghriche are usually credited with the men's version, which came as a 50 ml eau de toilette in an indigo bottle with neon pink and yellow details. It was a seasonal variation, not a permanent part of the L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme line, and is no longer produced.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kenzo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its apple-and-mint centre makes it lively and playful. Buyers who want a classic citrus cologne structure may find the fruit too prominent and the tonka finish odd.

Electric Wave was a 2016 limited variation built on yuzu, grapefruit, green apple and mint, with tonka and rosewood in the base.

Is Kenzo L'Eau Par Electric Wave coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Kenzo about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
