Rosa Rossa Harvest, inspired by Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Harvest Rosa Rossa (2023)

Lychee comes through first, with its fragrant, almost floral fruitiness, and blackcurrant adds a tart, leafy note. Below them sit two roses, Bulgarian and Turkish, plus organic rose water from Grasse, which gives a clear, watery freshness. The rose never becomes heavy or jammy. It feels like a freshly picked bloom rather than a dried petal.

About the original

Harvest Rosa Rossa was released in 2023 as a limited 125 ml Eau de Toilette, one of three Aqua Allegoria Harvest editions alongside Harvest Mandarine Basilic and Harvest Nerolia Vetiver. It reworks Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa, a 2018 Eau de Toilette by Thierry Wasser that sets rose on a musky sandalwood base. The Harvest edition was not continued, but the regular Rosa Rossa and Rosa Rossa Forte remain in Guerlain's range. No source names a perfumer for the Harvest version.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Guerlain stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lively and fresh, it suits daytime and the warmer months. The lychee is prominent, so someone hoping for a classic, dry rose might find it too fruity.

Lychee and blackcurrant open the scent, fruity and slightly tart, with rose water adding a cool, clear note.

Bulgarian and Turkish roses form the heart, fresh and petal-like rather than honeyed.

Some fragrance references place vanilla in the base, though it is not part of Guerlain's published notes.

Is this the regular Rosa Rossa or the Harvest edition?

The Harvest edition, a limited 2023 release. The regular Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa Eau de Toilette (2018) is still sold by Guerlain.

Is Rosa Rossa Harvest discontinued?

It was a limited edition in 2023 and is no longer produced. Guerlain still sells the regular Rosa Rossa and Rosa Rossa Forte.

Does it smell of lychee?

Yes. Lychee is one of the main notes alongside blackcurrant, and it gives the rose a fresh, fruity lift.

Is Guerlain Rosa Rossa Harvest coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Guerlain about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
