Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa, inspired by Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa (2013)

Red berries come first, tangy and slightly sweet, and many people read them as raspberry. The rose that follows is airy and dewy, closer to a freshly cut stem than to a jammy, dark rose. Iris adds a cool, lipstick-like powderiness underneath. Musk closes it off cleanly, so the overall effect stays transparent from start to finish.

About the original

Flora Rosa was a 2013 addition to Aqua Allegoria, Guerlain's collection of light, single-theme fragrances, and was composed by Thierry Wasser. It is easy to confuse with other roses in the same line: Rosa Rossa, which Guerlain still sells, as well as Rosa Pop and Rosa Verde. Flora Rosa is no longer listed on Guerlain's current Aqua Allegoria pages, and fragrance references describe it as discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Guerlain stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Rose lovers who find classic rose perfumes too dense tend to like this one, particularly in spring and summer and during the day. The berry note gives it a sweet edge, and the iris leaves a powdery trace, so anyone wanting a green or dewy-only rose may find the drydown too cosmetic.

Is Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa the same as Rosa Rossa?

No. Rosa Rossa is a different rose in the Aqua Allegoria collection and is still sold by Guerlain. Flora Rosa (2013) pairs rose with red berries and iris.

Has Guerlain discontinued Flora Rosa?

It no longer appears in Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria range and is reported as discontinued. We have not found an official date.

Is it a powdery rose?

Slightly. Iris gives the heart and drydown a soft powder, but the berry opening keeps it fresh.

Is Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Guerlain that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
