White Jasmine & Mint

White Jasmine & Mint, inspired by Jo Malone London White Jasmine & Mint Cologne (2007)

Mint and peppermint lead, with chamomile, coriander and cardamom adding a herbal, spiced edge. Jasmine then takes over, kept green and tea-like rather than heady, with ylang-ylang, orange blossom, rose and lily of the valley around it. Maté, a South American tea leaf, gives the base a dry, slightly grassy note beside cedar, vetiver and musk. The overall feel is crisp and cool rather than sweet.

About the original

Launched in September 2007 in 50 ml and 100 ml, White Jasmine & Mint was the brand's second release after Jo Malone herself had left. Jo Malone London presents it as a sunny morning in an English country garden. A separate London Rain White Jasmine & Mint, by Christine Nagel, came out as a limited edition in 2014; this page is about the 2007 cologne.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fans of tea scents and green florals will find it easy, especially on spring and summer days, which match the brand's sunny garden theme. The mint is noticeable at first, so it is worth sampling if minty or herbal openings put you off.

Yes. It now sits in Jo Malone London's online Archive Collection in some markets.

Does it smell of mint throughout?

No. Mint stands out in the opening, but the scent settles into green jasmine and a woody musk with maté.
