Bois Pacifique, inspired by Tom Ford Bois Pacifique (2025)

Bois Pacifique opens with cardamom and turmeric, the turmeric giving an earthy, slightly golden spice. Akigalawood, a woody material derived from patchouli, adds a peppery dryness beneath. Olibanum (frankincense) and orris butter then form a smooth, resinous and faintly powdery heart, with saffron reported in some descriptions. The base is cedar and oakwood alongside sandalwood, with amber and vanilla giving a rounded, cushioned finish.

About the original

Tom Ford announced Bois Pacifique in December 2024 as a new fragrance in its Signature Collection, not the Private Blend line. The brand has not named a perfumer. It went on to win a Fragrance of the Year award in the Men's Luxury category. Some retailers sell it as pour homme, though at least one reviewer considered it fully unisex.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Tom Ford stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Spiced woods with an amber-vanilla base are the point here. The texture is smooth and woody rather than sweet. Turmeric and incense give it an earthy, resinous side that may not suit someone after a clean, fresh woody scent.
