About the original

Jean-Claude Ellena created Eau de Mandarine Ambrée in 2013 for the Colognes Hermès collection. The brand presents it as a citrus amber meant to evoke a sunlit orchard. Hermès names just three notes for it. The house sells it to men and women alike, and it remains in the current range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Hermès stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Warm weather is where it is most at home, and wearers also reach for it as a light everyday scent. The passion fruit adds a sweetness that citrus purists may not expect.

Mandarin dominates the start, juicy and slightly bitter at the peel, very true to the fruit.

Passion fruit then rounds it with a tart tropical note that sits alongside the citrus rather than replacing it. The amber base is smooth and a little resinous, which keeps the fruit from feeling thin.
