L'Eau Ambree

L'Eau Ambree, inspired by Prada L'Eau Ambrée (2009)

L'Eau Ambrée takes the dry, woody amber and patchouli of Prada's original Amber and makes it transparent. Citron gives a short, clean opening; a little rose de mai and gardenia pass through without turning sugary. At its core is amber with opoponax, a resin with a honeyed, slightly balsamic smell, plus vanilla held well in check. The effect is airy despite the warmth, like a cashmere layer rather than a wool coat.

About the original

Daniela Andrier composed it for Prada in 2009, adding to a line of amber scents that began with the Prada Eau de Parfum of 2004 and included Prada Intense and Amber pour Homme. It no longer appears among the fragrances on Prada's beauty website, and remaining bottles are mostly sold by discounters.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Prada stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Quiet by design, it suits workplaces and close company better than a crowded room. For a richer, more enveloping amber, the original Prada Amber is the fuller of the two.

Notes: Citron, Rose De Mai, Gardenia, Patchouli, Amber, Vanilla, Opoponax

Citron opens briefly, crisp and slightly bitter.

Rose de mai and gardenia appear faintly, more muted than you might expect, with patchouli already showing.

The drydown is amber and opoponax with a little vanilla, sheer and close to the skin.

Is Prada L'Eau Ambrée discontinued?

It is no longer listed by Prada, and remaining bottles are mainly sold by discounters.

How is it different from Prada Amber?

L'Eau Ambrée is a lighter, more transparent version of the dry amber and patchouli idea behind the 2004 Prada Eau de Parfum, which we also make.

Is Prada L'Eau Ambree coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Prada that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days. It arrives in 3 to 7 days across the EU and in 7 to 14 days outside the EU. You have 14 days to return an unopened bottle.
