Solo Loewe Cedro, inspired by Loewe Solo Loewe Cedro (2015)

Petitgrain, the green, faintly bitter oil distilled from orange leaves and twigs, gives Cedro a brisk citrus start. Nutmeg and lavender follow, the spice adding grip and the lavender a clean aromatic line. Loewe's wet stone accord is the unusual part, a cool mineral impression that sits against the cedar like rock after rain. Once it dries down the wood becomes the main event, with benzoin giving the base a gentle resinous roundness.

About the original

Solo Cedro joined the Solo Loewe line in 2015, presented as the line's fragrance dedicated to wood, with cedar as its main material. Its first bottles carried wooden elements with pyrography (burnt-in) detailing. Loewe now sells it in a translucent dark-red bottle as part of its Botanical Rainbow series, describing it as the original fragrance in a new bottle.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Loewe stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Set beside the original Solo, Cedro trades guava and cumin for a drier, more wooden profile. Loewe calls it woody and robust, so buyers hoping for fruit or a gourmand base may find it plain.

Solo (2004) is a citrus aromatic with guava and cumin. Cedro (2015) centres on cedar with petitgrain, nutmeg and lavender, and is drier and woodier.

What is the wet stone accord?

It is a composed note Loewe lists for Cedro, meant to suggest cool, damp stone. It sets a mineral coolness next to the cedar.
