Boss Bottled Elixir, inspired by Boss Bottled Elixir (2023)

Bottled Elixir opens with smoke rather than freshness: incense, with cardamom adding a cool, aromatic spice. Vetiver and patchouli give the middle an earthy, rooty depth. The drydown leans on cedarwood and labdanum, a resin from the rockrose shrub that smells ambery and faintly leathery. It is an amber-woody composition throughout, and no sugary notes appear in its list.

About the original

Hugo Boss released Bottled Elixir on 25 August 2023 to mark 25 years of Boss Bottled, first launched in 1998. Annick Menardo, who composed the original Boss Bottled, created it with Suzy Le Helley. The original is a parfum intense. Boss Bottled Triumph Elixir is a separate flanker and should not be mistaken for this one.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Hugo Boss stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Incense is the first thing you notice, and that smoky start feels more serious than the classic Bottled. Patchouli and vetiver keep the middle earthy. It is aimed at men who already enjoy ambery woods and resins.

Boss Bottled (1998) is the original. Bottled Elixir is a 2023 anniversary flanker built on incense, vetiver, patchouli and labdanum. We also make Boss Bottled and Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum.

Is the original Elixir an eau de parfum?

No. Hugo Boss sells Bottled Elixir as a parfum intense. Our version is made as an eau de parfum, in 50 or 100 ml.

Is this Boss Bottled Triumph Elixir?

No. This page is based on Boss Bottled Elixir from 2023; Triumph Elixir is a different flanker.
