Frangipani is the tropical tree flower often strung into garlands, and its scent is rich, rounded and slightly buttery. Here it sits at the centre, with jasmine petals lightening the start so the composition does not feel heavy straight away. The mood is sunlit and exotic rather than formal. Sandalwood gives a smooth, milky finish that keeps the flower company to the end.

About the original

The cologne first appeared in April 2019 as a limited edition in 30 ml and 100 ml. In 2026 it reappeared on Jo Malone London's UK site under a new listing, though it was not in the US range when we checked, and the brand has not said whether the return is permanent. It sits in the regular Cologne line rather than the Cologne Intense series.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its campaigns have centred on spring and summer, and the composition matches: sunny, floral and fairly lush for a cologne. The sweet, buttery side of frangipani is the thing to weigh up, since lovers of green or austere florals may find it too rich.
