Apple Brandy On The Rocks, inspired by Kilian Paris Apple Brandy on the Rocks (2021)

Bergamot and pineapple make the start fizzy and cold, like ice in a glass, while cardamom adds a green, aromatic spice. Apple then comes through clearly, crisp and sweet, with the rounded booziness of brandy beside it. Moss and vanilla give some depth without darkening the mood. It is sweet, but brisk enough to stay lively.

About the original

Sidonie Lancesseur created Apple Brandy on the Rocks for Kilian in 2021 as the successor to her original Apple Brandy of 2013. Kilian says it keeps the original apple brandy core and adds an 'on the rocks' accord of bergamot, pineapple and cardamom. It belongs to The Liquors collection and is still sold by Kilian.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kilian Paris stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Compared with the darker 2013 original, this version is sweeter and fresher. The pineapple and apple give it a fruity, almost cocktail-like sweetness. Fans of dry, woody liquor scents may prefer the original's oak and smoke.

How is it different from the original Apple Brandy?

On the Rocks adds bergamot, pineapple and cardamom to the apple and brandy core, so it smells fresher and sweeter. The 2013 original is darker, with oak, smoke and labdanum.

Is it very boozy?

Moderately. The brandy is clear, but the citrus and pineapple keep it from feeling heavy.
