Cedrat Boise, inspired by Mancera Cedrat Boisé (2011)

Sicilian lemon is the first thing you notice, zesty and slightly bitter, with blackcurrant adding a dark, fruity tartness and a pinch of cool spice. Jasmine and patchouli leaves make up the heart, the patchouli giving a green, earthy undertone. Then the scent turns woody, as leather and oakmoss give it a dry, mossy grip and vanilla rounds off the very end.

About the original

Mancera released Cedrat Boisé as an eau de parfum in 2011. Cédrat is French for citron, and boisé means woody, which sums up the structure neatly. It was later joined by a flanker, Intense Cedrat Boisé; this page is based on the original version. No perfumer credit has been documented.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Mancera stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers after a citrus scent with more substance than a typical summer cologne will find that here, and retailers describe it as sunny and versatile. The leather and oakmoss give the drydown a darker, drier tone, so it may not please anyone wanting a purely fresh citrus.

Does it smell of leather?

Leather appears in the base alongside oakmoss and woods, giving the drydown a dry, slightly leathery feel, but lemon and blackcurrant lead the opening.
