A*Men Ultra Zest

A*Men Ultra Zest, inspired by Mugler A*Men Ultra Zest (2015)

Citrus leads here, tangerine and blood orange, the latter slightly bitter and berry-toned. Ginger and spearmint make the top tingle, a fizzy, cooling combination. Beneath them the A*Men signature shows: dark coffee and patchouli, now spiked with cinnamon and black pepper. Tonka bean rounds the base with a smooth, almond-like sweetness, so the citrus sits on something dark instead of drifting away.

About the original

Mugler released A*Men Ultra Zest in early 2015 as a limited edition for men, offered in a 100 ml Eau de Toilette. It was composed by Jacques Huclier and Quentin Bisch. It keeps the coffee and patchouli of the original A*Men but puts citrus and spice at the front. Ultra Zest should not be mixed up with A*Men Ultra Blue or A*Men Pure Energy, which are different flankers.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Mugler stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who like A*Men but want something fresher at the top are its natural wearers. The coffee and patchouli remain clearly present, so it is still a dark, distinctive scent rather than a plain citrus cologne.

Tangerine and blood orange open with a zesty, slightly bitter citrus, lifted by ginger and spearmint.

Cinnamon and black pepper give the heart heat, while coffee starts to show through the spice.

Patchouli and tonka bean carry the base, earthy and sweet in the A*Men manner.

Was A*Men Ultra Zest a limited edition?

Yes. Mugler launched it in 2015 as a limited edition Eau de Toilette, and it is no longer produced.

Does it still smell like A*Men?

The base does: coffee and patchouli are both there. The difference is the citrus, ginger and spearmint at the top, which make it fresher and spicier.

Is Mugler A*Men Ultra Zest coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Mugler about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
