Greenley, inspired by Parfums de Marly Greenley (2020)

Greenley leads with green apple, tart and leafy rather than candied, backed by bergamot and mandarin. Petitgrain takes over in the heart; distilled from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree, it smells green, slightly woody and a little bitter. Underneath, ambrox (a clean, mineral amber material) and amberwood give a dry, radiant base, with cedarwood keeping the lines straight. Some wearers compare the opening to freshly cut grass.

About the original

Greenley came out in 2020 from Parfums de Marly, the house Julien Sprecher founded in 2009. The brand presents it as a 'fresh universal scent' and describes it as 'fresh, lively and soothing'. Its official note list is short; fragrance databases give a longer pyramid with violet, pomarose and oakmoss, which the house itself does not name. It remains in the current range in 75 ml and 125 ml bottles.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Parfums de Marly stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers who reach for citrus and green scents in the daytime will find it easy going, and fragrance databases rate it as office-safe. It is light and uncomplicated. The flip side is that its clean, soapy opening can strike some as plain.
