Mmw, inspired by Givenchy MMW (2022)

Palo santo, a South American wood often burned like incense, gives MMW its smoky, spicy and balmy core. Cardamom opens it with a short, fresh burst. Beneath the palo santo sit two cedarwoods, Virginia and Atlas, plus vetiver. Iso E Super and Ambrox, two modern aroma molecules with a dry, ambery feel, run through the base.

About the original

Givenchy launched MMW in June 2022 in La Collection Particulière, its exclusive line, naming it after creative director Matthew M. Williams. After his departure the house renamed the scent 3 Avenue George V, after its Paris address, and states that the olfactory signature is unchanged. No perfumer has been published for it.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Givenchy stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Smoke and wood dominate, so this suits someone comfortable with dry, incense-like scents. Givenchy describes it as majestic and mysterious. There are no florals and little sweetness, which may feel austere to a buyer who wants something cosier.
