Muse, inspired by Xerjoff Muse

Plum sets a ripe, dark-fruit tone from the start, and a leather accord adds a smooth, dusky edge while white flowers lift it. Davana, a herb with a boozy, dried-fruit smell, joins jasmine in the heart, and labdanum brings a dense, resinous sweetness. The base stays balsamic with amber and benzoin over patchouli, and raspberry keeps a fruity thread through to the end.

About the original

Muse is part of Xerjoff's Vibe collection, which retailers often call the V-Collection. It appears to have started in Xerjoff's sister line Sospiro before moving to Xerjoff branding; we have not found Xerjoff confirming a launch year or naming a perfumer. It is the only Xerjoff fragrance with this name.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Xerjoff stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers fond of dark plum and resin are its natural audience, and reviews on fragrance sites place it in autumn, winter and the evening. Some find the balsamic leather side heavy in warm weather.
