Single Malt

Single Malt, inspired by Kilian Single Malt (2015)

Wheat absolute brings a toasted, grain-like note, the side of whisky that smells of malt rather than alcohol. Plum adds dark fruit to it. Texas cedarwood gives the base a pencil-shaving dryness, while Madagascar vanilla and Colombian tolu balm (a resin with a cinnamon-tinged, toffee-like smell) round it out. No top notes were published, so the scent is described from the heart down.

About the original

Kilian launched Single Malt in 2015 as its exclusive for the Harrods Salon de Parfums boutique, following Apple Brandy for New York and Vodka on the Rocks for Moscow. Sidonie Lancesseur was named as perfumer, and the brand presented it as an homage to London and whisky. In 2024 Kilian released Old Fashioned, a separate whisky-themed scent by the same perfumer with different notes.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kilian stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Whisky drinkers drawn to the smell of a malt in the glass are the obvious match. Vanilla and tolu balm make the base sweet and resinous, which may feel heavy to someone after a fresh scent.

Wheat absolute and plum lead, grainy and fruity, with a malt-like tone.

Cedarwood comes through next, dry and woody, before Madagascar vanilla and Colombian tolu balm add a resinous sweetness to the drydown.

Is Single Malt the same as Kilian Old Fashioned?

No. Old Fashioned (2024) is a separate whisky-themed scent by the same perfumer, with different notes such as davana, everlasting and styrax. Single Malt centres on wheat, plum, cedarwood, vanilla and tolu balm.

Is Kilian Single Malt still made?

We have not been able to confirm whether Kilian still produces Single Malt. It was originally sold through the brand's Harrods boutique.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
