Tygar Man, inspired by Bvlgari Le Gemme Tygar (2016)

Grapefruit opens Tygar, tart and slightly bitter, with a sparkle that Bvlgari calls surprising. Below it sits ambergris, a salty, mineral and faintly sweet note (launch coverage lists Ambrox, a synthetic ambergris material), together with dry woods. Bvlgari describes the base as dense but airy, and that contrast between bright top and solid foundation is what defines it.

About the original

Jacques Cavallier created Tygar for the Le Gemme Men collection, with press coverage dated 2016. Bvlgari connects it to tiger's eye and the Indian state of Kerala. The line later grew to include a Tygar Extrait de Parfum, a refillable travel spray and a Refik Anadol edition. This page is modelled on the original eau de parfum, not the Extrait.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Bvlgari stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Citrus fans who want more depth than grapefruit alone are its natural match. The ambery woods underneath are dense, so it is less breezy than the grapefruit opening suggests.

The eau de parfum, the original Tygar from the Le Gemme Men collection. Bvlgari's later Extrait de Parfum is a separate version.

Is Tygar a fresh scent?

It opens fresh with grapefruit, but the ambergris and woods give it a denser, ambery base.
