Viking

Viking, inspired by Creed Viking (2017)

Viking opens cool and peppery, with peppermint and pink peppercorn over bergamot, lemon and orange, and absinthe (wormwood) adding a bitter herbal bite. The heart turns spicy as clove and allspice come through, while lavender and Bulgarian rose round it out and orris butter, an iris-root material, adds a cool, powdery texture. Cedarwood and vetiver form a dry woody base, with tonka bean giving a touch of sweetness and white musk keeping it clean.

About the original

Creed launched Viking in August 2017 as a citrus woody fragrance for men, its first major men's release after Aventus (2010). It is an eau de parfum and remains in Creed's range. A flanker, Viking Cologne, followed later and is a different scent; this page follows the original 2017 Viking. Note lists published at launch differ from Creed's current pyramid, which is the one used here.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Creed stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who enjoy spiced aromatic fougères will recognise the structure, with the mint and citrus giving it a fresher outline than most. The clove and pepper are noticeable, so a smooth, sweet scent this is not.

Creed Viking, the 2017 eau de parfum. Viking Cologne is a later flanker with its own composition.

Does Viking smell like Aventus?

They are separate Creed fragrances. Viking is built on mint, pepper, clove and lavender over woods; we also make Aventus if you want to compare.

Is Viking minty?

Peppermint is noticeable in the opening, giving a cool edge, but it fades as clove and lavender take over.
