Bamboo Harmony, inspired by Kilian Paris Bamboo Harmony (2012)

Bigarade, the bitter orange, opens alongside neroli and bergamot, in an opening that one review found warm rather than sharp. White tea takes over soon after, pale and slightly powdery, with mimosa adding a green floral tone. Kilian's current description ends on fig leaves and soft moss, which keep the finish green rather than musky.

About the original

Calice Becker created Bamboo Harmony for By Kilian in April 2012 as part of the Asian Tales collection, inspired by the Japanese folk tale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. The brand has since been renamed Kilian Paris, and the scent now sits in its 'The Fresh' family. The published note list has shifted since launch: 2012 press mentioned maté, spices, fig leaves and oakmoss, while Kilian now names citrus, mimosa and white tea.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kilian Paris (By Kilian) stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Kilian calls it pure and delicate, and that sums up the mood: a clean tea scent rather than a sweet or spicy one. A 2012 review found the tea quickly turns powdery and chalky, which may surprise a buyer drawn in by the citrus opening.

Not literally. The name comes from a Japanese folk tale; the scent itself is built on white tea, citrus and mimosa.

Is this the same as Gucci Bamboo?

No. Gucci Bamboo is a different fragrance from another house; this page is Kilian's Bamboo Harmony.
