Bare, inspired by Victoria's Secret Bare Eau de Parfum (2022)

Bare is deliberately pared back. A little Madagascar mandarin gives a fresh start, then Egyptian violet petals add a cool, faintly powdery floral note. The heart of it is the musk blend, which Victoria's Secret describes as adapting to the wearer's skin, with Australian sandalwood giving a smooth, dry woodiness. It reads more like clean skin and fabric than a perfume with distinct stages.

About the original

Victoria's Secret announced Bare in July 2022 and released it worldwide that August. It was the brand's first new fine-fragrance pillar in five years. The launch announcement credits Nathalie Benareau and Carlos Viñals of Symrise, and Bare was the first fragrance to use Symrise's Cryptosym technology, a formula-protection technology. Bare Rose, Bare Magnolia and Bare Nectar are separate flankers.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Victoria's Secret stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fans of musky, minimal scents will recognise the idea immediately. It has very little sweetness and no heavy florals. Someone hoping for a fruity or gourmand Victoria's Secret scent may find it too understated.

Is this Bare or one of the Bare flankers?

This is the main Bare Eau de Parfum from 2022. Bare Rose, Bare Magnolia and Bare Nectar are separate flankers, and the older Bare body mists are different scents too.

Is Bare the same as Bare Vanilla?

No. Bare Vanilla is a separate Victoria's Secret scent, which we also make.

Does Bare smell sweet?

Barely. Mandarin and violet keep the start fresh, and the base is musk and sandalwood rather than vanilla or sugar.
