In Red, inspired by Armand Basi In Red (2003)

In Red opens with a lively mix of bergamot and tangerine, given a peppery tingle by cardamom and ginger. The spice is light and aromatic rather than hot. Jasmine, lily and rose come next, clean and airy, with the lily adding a cool, slightly waxy petal note. Moss and musk round off the base, leaving a fresh, faintly earthy trace.

About the original

Armand Basi launched In Red as an Eau de Toilette in 2003, and an Eau de Parfum version and several flankers followed, including a Celebration Edition. Our page is written around the original 2003 Eau de Toilette. Retail copy positions it as a daytime spring and summer scent.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Armand Basi stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Daytime wear in spring and summer is how retailers present it. The spice keeps the flowers from feeling purely pretty, and the base is fresh rather than heavy. Lovers of rich, sweet or gourmand florals may find it too restrained.
