Jluxe, inspired by Jennifer Lopez JLuxe (2015)

Pineapple and raspberry make a candied, mouth-watering start, with bergamot adding just enough citrus to keep it lively. Violet and orris, the powdery note drawn from iris root, arrive next and shift the fruit towards something softer and more cosmetic. Ylang-ylang and Damask rose add a gentle floral body. Underneath, amber, cedar and musk leave a powdery, slightly woody sweetness.

About the original

Jennifer Lopez released JLuxe in spring 2015 as an eau de parfum; body mist and lotion versions also exist. It is a different fragrance from Live Luxe, which dates from 2006. Jennifer Lopez fragrances were made under licence by Coty until 2017, when the licence moved to Designer Parfums.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jennifer Lopez stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Sweet-toothed wearers will enjoy it most, and fragrance databases place it in autumn and winter, for both casual and evening wear. The fruit and powder are both pronounced, so it will not appeal to anyone who prefers fresh, dry or green scents.

The top is all fruit: pineapple and raspberry, sweet and slightly tart, sharpened by bergamot.

Violet and orris give the heart a lipstick-like powderiness, while ylang-ylang and rose add a smooth floral layer.

In the base, amber brings a resinous sweetness, cedar a pencil-shaving dryness and musk a clean finish.

Is JLuxe the same as Live Luxe?

No. JLuxe is a 2015 fruity amber with pineapple, raspberry and violet, while Live Luxe is a separate Jennifer Lopez fragrance from 2006.

Is JLuxe powdery?

Yes, moderately. Violet and orris in the heart and amber in the base give it a powdery sweetness after the fruit fades.

Does Jennifer Lopez still make JLuxe?
