Pure Wonder, inspired by Bath & Body Works Pure Wonder (2020)

Pure Wonder starts with an iced rosé note, meaning the pink wine rather than the flower, and it gives the opening a chilled, effervescent feel. Star jasmine follows with a clean white-floral tone that is less heady than classic jasmine. White amber settles underneath as a smooth, slightly sweet layer. The overall shape is simple and airy, which suits the body-mist format it was designed for.

About the original

Pure Wonder appeared among the new Bath & Body Works fine fragrance mists announced around September 2020. The scent has been sold as a mist and in body wash, lotion, room spray and gift sets. Bath & Body Works describes it as dreamy and joyfully bright. One early blog listing gave rose, mimosa and patchouli as notes, but the official pages name iced rosé, star jasmine and white amber, and those are the notes we follow.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Bath & Body Works stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers drawn to cheerful, uncomplicated florals will get on with it, especially if they like a fruity, wine-like sparkle. It is a light, layerable scent in the original mist form rather than a dense perfume. Depth, resin or smoke are absent, so it can feel too simple for a richer taste.

Not in the floral sense. The rosé note refers to pink wine, so the opening is fruity and fizzy rather than rosy.

We have not been able to confirm whether Bath & Body Works still produces Pure Wonder.
