Valentina, inspired by Valentino Valentina (2011)

Strawberry opens Valentina, kept from turning syrupy by Italian bergamot. Jasmine sambac and orange blossom arrive next, both white and slightly honeyed. Patchouli gives the heart an earthy line, and the drydown rests on vanilla and cedar. Launch materials also described a white truffle facet in the opening, an unusual savoury touch for a fruity floral.

About the original

Valentina was the first Valentino fragrance under the Puig licence, launched in September 2011 and composed by Alberto Morillas and Olivier Cresp. Freja Beha Erichsen fronted the campaign. Several flankers followed, including Valentina Assoluto and Valentina Pink. Valentino Beauty's US site now states that the eau de parfum has been discontinued, though some retailers still sell remaining stock.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Valentino stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Fruity floral fans will find it approachable, with the strawberry giving it a youthful start. The vanilla base is clearly sweet. Strawberry may feel too candied to someone who prefers dry or green florals.

Is Valentino Valentina discontinued?

Yes. Valentino Beauty lists the eau de parfum as discontinued on its US site. Some retailers still have remaining bottles.

Is this the original Valentina or Valentina Pink?

The original Valentina Eau de Parfum from 2011. Valentina Pink is a separate flanker, which we also make.

Does it really contain truffle?

Launch press described a white truffle facet in the opening, but Valentino's current notes do not list it. Most of what you smell is fruit and white flowers.

Is Valentino Valentina coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Valentino that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
