Flora, inspired by Gucci Flora by Gucci Eau de Toilette (2009)

Flora by Gucci is pale and transparent rather than lush. Citrus and peony give it a fresh, almost fizzy start. Osmanthus, a flower with a delicate apricot-like tone, joins rose in the heart and keeps the bouquet light. The base is low-key: sandalwood and patchouli with a prickle of pink pepper, just enough to anchor the flowers.

About the original

Gucci launched Flora in 2009, under creative director Frida Giannini, as an Eau de Toilette aimed at a younger customer; an Eau de Parfum with a different composition followed in 2010. Now Smell This described it as a clean, pale and deliberately inoffensive floral. Gucci's Flora range today is built around the Flora Gorgeous fragrances such as Gardenia, Jasmine and Magnolia. According to consumer reports and retailer ranges, the original Eau de Toilette is no longer listed.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Gucci stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

An easy choice for anyone new to perfume or wary of heavy scents. It is light and polite, so those who like a fragrance with presence may find it too quiet. There is no heavy sweetness, powder or smoke.

Top notes: Peony, Citruses, Mandarin Orange

Heart notes: Osmanthus, Rose

The top is citrus, mandarin and peony, crisp and slightly sparkling.

Osmanthus and rose form a gentle floral middle, while the drydown settles on sandalwood and patchouli warmed by pink pepper.

Is Gucci Flora discontinued?

The original 2009 Eau de Toilette has been withdrawn, according to consumer reports, and major retailers now list only the Flora Gorgeous fragrances. We have not seen an official statement from Gucci.

Is this the same as Flora Gorgeous Gardenia?

No. This is the original Flora from 2009. Gorgeous Gardenia, Jasmine and Magnolia are separate fragrances, and we make each of them.

Is Gucci Flora coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Gucci that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days. It arrives in 3 to 7 days across the EU and in 7 to 14 days outside the EU. You have 14 days to return an unopened bottle.
