Beyond Rose set out to reinvent the classic rose fragrance for a modern nose. Our version keeps that fresh, spiced approach, framing a velvety rose with green mate, peppery lift, and a soft amber and benzoin base that gives it real warmth.

The Story Behind the Scent

Clinique created Beyond Rose as a limited, harder to find release, the kind of quietly special scent you had to seek out. The aim was to take the most familiar flower in perfumery and make it feel new, avoiding anything powdery or dated.

The trick was in the framing. Instead of a soft, romantic rose, the perfumers gave it a green, slightly bitter mate tea opening and a dusting of white pepper, then anchored it in labdanum, amber, and benzoin. Our interpretation follows that same idea, keeping the rose fresh at the top and warm and resinous at the base.

How it Smells

It opens green and slightly bitter, with mate tea and a crack of white pepper giving the rose an unexpected, modern lift.

The heart is all rose, velvety and full, with osmanthus adding a soft apricot and leather nuance that keeps it from feeling one dimensional.

The base turns warm and resinous, with labdanum, amber, and benzoin wrapping the rose in a soft, slightly sweet glow that lasts for hours.
