Chrome Legend, inspired by Azzaro Chrome Legend (2007)

Chrome Legend starts on green apple, tart rather than candied, with bitter orange and a dry note of tea. The tea carries through into the heart, where aquatic notes add a watery, airy coolness. Underneath, oakmoss and vetiver give the base a green, earthy line, while tonka and musk keep it smooth, with a touch of amber.

About the original

Azzaro launched Chrome Legend in 2007 as a flanker of Chrome (1996), and it is usually credited to Christophe Raynaud and Olivier Pescheux. Users report that later batches smelled lighter and more aquatic than early ones. Azzaro's current Chrome page shows only Chrome and Chrome Parfum, and a company representative is reported to have said Chrome Legend was dropped several years ago.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Azzaro stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its appeal is a clean apple-and-tea freshness that feels relaxed rather than formal. Men who find straightforward aquatic scents thin may like the fruit and moss here. Green apple dominates the first stage, which may not suit people who dislike fruity notes in men's scents.

It no longer appears in Azzaro's range, and a company representative is reported to have confirmed it was withdrawn several years ago.

How is Chrome Legend different from Chrome?

Chrome Legend (2007) is a flanker built around green apple and tea with a mossy base. The original Chrome (1996) is a separate scent, which we also make.

Is it the same as Chrome Pure?

No. Chrome Pure (2017) is a later flanker with mandarin and orange blossom over tonka, sweeter than Chrome Legend's apple and tea.

Is Azzaro Chrome Legend coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Azzaro that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
