Midnight Musk & Amber, inspired by Jo Malone London Midnight Musk & Amber Cologne (2020)

Juniper gives the first breath a cool, gin-like resinous note, and mandarin adds a quick glint of citrus. Amber builds underneath almost at once, a round, resinous sweetness. Musk then softens it all into a powdery, glamorous haze.

About the original

Midnight Musk & Amber was launched in October 2020 alongside Jo Malone London's art-deco holiday collection. It was reported sold out in many places within a few weeks of launch. No source says the cologne itself was a limited edition. It no longer appears in Jo Malone London's official cologne listings, although one retailer still shows it as coming soon, so a return cannot be ruled out.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Glamour and comfort are what it offers, and it was presented for the festive season and celebrations. Its sweetness and powder are pronounced, which can be off-putting for those who like their scents dry or fresh.

It has a noticeable sweet, powdery amber character, and one reviewer warned that people who dislike sweet scents may not enjoy it.
