Amber Intrigue, inspired by Tom Ford Amber Intrigue Eau de Parfum (2024)

Amber Intrigue starts with dates: dense, honeyed and dark, dusted with cinnamon. Olibanum (frankincense) gives that fruit a smoky, church-like lift almost at once. Violet and sandalwood soften the middle, while Haitian vetiver adds an earthy dryness. It ends on amber and labdanum, a resin with a leathery, smouldering edge, so the finish is drier than the opening suggests.

About the original

Amber Intrigue joined Tom Ford's Private Blend collection in September 2024, launching exclusively at Harrods. It has since appeared on the US Tom Ford Beauty site, though distribution still looks restricted. It comes in an amber-coloured bottle. Only one Amber Intrigue exists, so there is no flanker confusion.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Tom Ford stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Smoke and spiced fruit lead here, with sugar kept well in the background. Some find it rather safe for a Private Blend. The cinnamon and resin may feel heavy to anyone who wears mostly fresh scents.

Is Amber Intrigue sweet?

Moderately. The date accord is honeyed, but olibanum, vetiver and labdanum pull it towards a smoky, dry amber rather than a dessert.

Is Amber Intrigue only sold at Harrods?

It launched as a Harrods exclusive in 2024 and is now also on the US Tom Ford Beauty site. Distribution still appears restricted.
